About Kimmy

Once upon a time I was a lawyer in Belgium.

Throwback to 2017 when I arrived at my physio appointment to treat my ‘stress-neck’: “Would you mind making it quick please, I have a police interrogation on in 30 minutes..”

Six years ago I flew around like a headless chicken unable to keep up. My role as a Family and Criminal Law solicitor during the day, a gym junkie at night and high five party life on weekends.

Until the big crash – 28 and a burn-out – congratulations!

And so it began: I was forced into slowing down for the following months. ‘Self’-care they called it, I didn’t even know what to do with my-‘self’.

Gradually I discovered and explored, with baby steps and with ups and downs.

I decided that it was time to start living. I could sit behind my desk for another 40 years.

After completing my yoga teacher training, I took a plane to the other side of the world.

In 2019 I travelled South-East Asia, worked as a live in au pair near the Gold Coast, taught yoga classes at a surf camp and…eventually lost my heart to the South Coast of NSW where I have found myself grounded.

Every morning I count my blessings: I live at walking distance from the beach, teach yoga, work for local community organisations and there are plenty local surf breaks where I can get salty.

Never have I regret diving into the deep end and leaving my life in Belgium behind. I hope you enjoy reading my posts and I can inspire you in some way.
