Once upon a time a Belgian lawyer decided to accurately imitate a salmon and swim against the stream. And so I quit my job, got into all things Namaste and booked a one way flight to Bali followed by what was meant to be a year of travelling in the land down under.
Four and a half years later I still find myself in the land of Vegemite on toast, grateful for my decision late 2018 to dive in the unknown.

What was once unknown has now become my normal and as I sit here sipping chocolate tea on the deck at my friend’s beach house, I have decided it is time to blow the dust off my blog and give you an update on all things life.
I am currently catsitting and housesitting in Broulee, a small coastal town four hours south of Sydney. There was a time when I just moved down the South Coast and only learnt surfing months before when I would drive to at least seven different beaches every morning to find a little wave. Broulee has always been one of my favourite spots with lots of different spots with beginner friendly surf.
The past two weeks have been a treat waking up every morning getting my hair salty followed by catch ups with friends having coffee by the water. Although this morning was a bit funny and I did a classic “Kimmy”. My friend Caitlin has started doing yoga classes at the Broulee Surf club and I joined the class earlier this week at 6 AM. Last night she put a post up on Instagram there would be another class on Thursday at 6. Sweet. As proud as I was for getting up early this morning at 5:40 AM, I drove to the surf club to find it dark and empty. Turned out Caitlin is teaching sunset yoga today instead of sunrise yoga haha. Oh well at least I was keen. My back up activity was not too bad after all getting a few waves at the river mouth.

Broulee is about 20 minutes North from my actual home in Australia, Moruya Heads, where I have been living now for nearly three years since a certain Australian plumber surfed his way into my life :-).
Occasionally we also do work sometimes in this country and the past years I have been working for local community services. At the moment I am working with families and children post separation in an organisation in Moruya. A year and a half ago I also decided I would like to get my law degree recognised in Australia, so I am also studying law – Volume II. I finished exams about a fortnight ago so I can now enjoy two months without Uni which is, I have to say, just fabulous.
The South Coast, once a place where I would only stay for three months getting a visa extension through shucking oysters and now a place I can proudly call home. I hope I get to share it with you one day, you are welcome to visit any time xxx
